What is Survival Boot Camp?

I am Summer Buxton and I started Survival Boot Camp to help get you pumped up and in shape! My goal -- shared by my staff of trainers -- is to help you succeed in a program that pushes you to exceed your own expectations. You will feel better, lose weight, and enjoy a refreshing, motivating class that fits your schedule and your budget.

Survival Boot Camp will help you build relationships that will help you conquer personal goals -- marathons, losing baby weight, getting ready for a wedding -- anything that is important to you, we'll work on together!

My staff and I will personally work to make this class the highlight of your week. You'll look forward to coming to class, and it will meet your goals. I guarantee it!

 

 

Basically, Survival Boot Camp is a "class without walls" (except when walls are required!) which meets in various locations throughout Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, and Independence. You'll always know exactly where the classes are, and the times they're offered. You pick the number of days per week to come to class (anywhere from two to six days a week) -- pay conveniently online -- and be ready to go at the class start time. Along with your other fellow boot campers, you'll have a great time in a variety of activities led by a trained instructor.

You can also add the optional Venice Nutrition package to your program. This program gives you online nutrition and meal planning, journaling tools, 24-hour nutritional support from a team of experts, a recipe database full of meal options, and a whole lot more, for just about $1 a day. It's a great plan I know you'll enjoy using.

Q. What should I wear?
A. Expect to get wet and dirty. Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty or stained. You should wear layers appropriate for the time of year and invest in a good pair of running shoes.

Q. What if it rains?
A. Boot camp will be held rain, sleet, snow or shine! If it is too dangerous to travel or if the ground is too slick to walk around, we will call it off and reschedule.

Q. What kind of people enlist in Survival Boot Camp?

A. Survival Boot Camp attracts people of all shapes and sizes, ages and fitness levels. Boot Camp is perfect for those who work all day and want to get outside and work out: moms who want to lose baby fat...college/high school students who need to get back on the right track...even conditioned athletes who want to improve their game. We'll make it perfect for you, whatever your fitness level, age, or gender.

Q. Do I have to be in good shape before I join?

A. NO! We encourage everyone to attend no matter what their current fitness level. No one will be asked to do something they are not capable of doing. It's a good idea to consult with your physician before starting an exercise program (but I'd be surprised if you were told no!).

Q. What kind of exercises will I be doing?

A. We'll do cardiovascular as well as resistance training such as running (short distances), push ups, sit ups, lunges, team building obstacles, jumping rope, jumping jacks, cone drills, stretching, agility ladder training and hill training. No two workouts will ever be the same!

Q. What should I bring to boot camp?
A. Bring a water bottle, towel and 3-5 lb weights, sunscreen and bug spray if needed during the warmer months.
